Nick Nikhilananda, candidate for State House, District 13, has been active and involved on Maui for the past 30 years. He is a former teacher and an advocate for the 'aina and people of the three inhabited islands in his District - Maui, Lanai, and Moloka'i; often testifying at numerous venues on politics, as well as government rules and regulations that are, and are not, working for the majority of the people. Nikhilananda sees the quality of life being negatively impacted as a result of the lack of economic opportunities and access to sufficient government and medical facilities. He is a supporter of food security, small, locally owned businesses, a proponent for campaign finance reform, public financing of elections, ranked choice voting and supports a strong "housing first" stance for the "unsheltered."
